My husband has a old sweep puppet whose distinctive noise squeak has died of old age, I know he would love to replace it.
I was hoping that someone on here may be able to advise me as googling has not helped, the only squeakers I have found for sale do not make the right noise.

Can anyone help?

Well why not buy a modern toy puppet Sweep and take the squeaker frrom that one and stitch in in your original.
